AFN Regional Chief Cameron Alexis

Assembly of First Nation, Regional Chief Cameron Alexis was elected into office on February 15, 2013 elected by majority support of Alberta Chiefs on the first ballot. Chief Alexis is married with 2 sons and a daughter and 12 grandchildren. Chief Alexis has served his community for approximately 6 and half years. Some of his leadership successes are but not limited to: Eagle River Casino and Travel Plaza, restructuring Alexis Service Rigs, Eagle River RV and Campground, Lands consultation, historical agreement with Jasper National Park, agreement with Brewster's Canada. Teck Coals partnership agreement, City of Edmonton partnership agreement, and other partnerships and agreements. Highlights of his previous service:
Cameron Alexis has served various communities in western Canada for 23 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Specializing in issues relating to aboriginal people; serving his people with respect and integrity he was considered an expert on "Aboriginal Relations" by his peers, he exemplified excellence in his performance until his retirement prior to becoming a Chief.

Dave Howden

Dave Howden has been involved in the Oil & Gas Accounting service industry for 30 years. Dave is married with two University aged children. For the past 15 years, Dave has been involved with trying to automate some of the day to day processes of oil & gas accounting. When he has some spare time, you can find him at a hockey rink or on a golf course.
Hamish Knox

As a licensed member of the global Sandler network, Hamish works with COPs (Chief Executives, Owners and Presidents) who seek the edge an accountable, growth driven organization has over their competition. Hamish worked in sales across a variety of industries including media, communication services, software and professional sports before joining the Sandler network, which melded his passions for sales and education. Early in his Sandler career Hamish was anointed a Sandler "Rising Star" for quickly building his business and helping fellow Sandler colleagues with their businesses. Hamish is a former Sandler Global Rookie of the Year, is a current member of Sandler's Franchisee Advisory Council and his book, Accountability the Sandler Way was published in November 2014. Committed to giving back so other entrepreneurs can enjoy the same opportunities he had when he launched his business, Hamish is an active mentor with Futurpreneur Canada, is a Maple Leaf Club donor to Enactus Canada and is a volunteer judge for regional and national student entrepreneur competitions. James "Jim" Gray

Mr. Gray is an exploration geologist who, for over 50 years, was engaged in the oil and natural gas exploration business in Western Canada. In 1973, Mr. Gray co‐founded Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd., one of Canada's larger natural gas producers.
Over the 28 years of his involvement with Canadian Hunter, he served in the positions of Executive Vice President, President and CEO, and Chairman until the company was purchased by Burlington Resources in December 2001 for $3.4 billion ($Cdn). Mr. Gray is Chairman of the Energy Group of Brookfield Asset Management Inc. His previous directorships included Brookfield Asset Management Inc., Cequence Energy Inc., Phoenix Technology Services, Emera Inc., Hudson's Bay Company, and Canadian National Railway of which he is Director Emeritus. Mr. Gray served as a member of the Alberta Premier's Council for Economic Strategy from 2009 to 2011.

Jay Todesco

Jay Todesco graduated from the University of Alberta Law School in 1983 and has been practicing oil and gas law ever since. He is currently the Associate General Counsel - with CNOOC Nexen, responsible for all legal matters relating to CNOOC's conventional, unconventional and LNG assets in North America. Previously, Jay practiced for 20 years in the area of international oil and gas, conducting negotiations in petroleum transactions in over 60 countries, including, Iraq, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, Libya and many others. In 2000, Jay held the Chair of Natural Resources Law at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law. From 2000 to 2004 Jay was also an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law, teaching International Petroleum Transactions. He has been a director of the Canadian Petroleum Law Foundation, the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and the Canadian Institute of Resources Law.

Anthony "Tony" Cioni

Anthony Cioni practices energy law, with an emphasis on domestic and international exploration, production and construction development. Tony has significant experience in upstream portfolio management with an emphasis on joint ventures, M&A transactions and PSC negotiations. He has advised on hundreds of EPC and field service agreements required to complete exploration and development drilling programs, both offshore and onshore.
Tony has over two decades of international and intercultural experience. His experience encompasses matters in over 27 countries, including China, Indonesia, Chad, Kenya, Brazil, Libya, Greenland, Kazakhstan, Australia and the Canadian east coast. Tony was the functional head of the international department at Husky Energy as a commercial negotiator. He was also head of the Transactions Department of a major European law firm in Kazakhstan and a seconded lawyer with Kuwait Foreign Exploration Company (KUFPEC). Tony speaks and writes in French, Italian and Russian. His international and intercultural experience coupled with his upstream, exploration and oil service experience make his expertise unique among energy law lawyers in Canada.
